Using innovative approaches to problem solving and leveraging the latest computer technologies, the DMF is creating unprecedented opportunities for the disability community. At the core of the Foundation's initiatives is Marino Campus, an intensive 10-month post-secondary educational program to help young adults with autism or other developmental disabilities bridge the gap between high school and employment. Other key programs include scholarships for young scientists (Marino Scholars), funding for the University of Miami Nicklaus Children's Hospital Dan Marino Center and ViTA DMF, virtual reality software and curriculum designed to help young adults with autism practice job interviewing skills. In 2016, ViTA DMF was awarded a Google Impact Challenge Grant in the area of Disabilities.

Summit Camp

Summit Camp & Travel is a therapeutically designed sleepaway summer Camp and Travel program organized to meet the social and emotional needs of our special population and their families. Our programs serve children of average to above average intelligence who have a variety of developmental, social, emotional, and learning issues. We serve children ages 8-19 who have diagnoses that often include Asperger syndrome, ADD/ADHD, verbal and non-verbal learning disabilities (NVLD), HFA (including PDD-NOS), speech and language issues, and sensory integration issues. Some of our youngsters may also have issues related to gaps in executive function, Tourette’s syndrome and/or Bi-Polar disorder. What is common to all Summit participants is their difficulty in making and/or  maintaining appropriate peer relationships. Our campers and travelers have a desire to make friends and be a part of a peer group but lack the social skills to find this success. In addition, as they lack peer confirmation, they may also have a generally lower level of self esteem. The mission of all of our programs is to provide our children with a safe, happy and enriching experience while at the same time offering their families a secure respite. We want our young people to learn and retain new skills and experience success. Our trained staff provide opportunities for social skills development and interpersonal growth. We provide supervised social skills groups  professionally directed. In addition, our counseling staff provide campers and travelers with consistent feedback about their interactions and model language and techniques needed for appropriate social reciprocity. Our group work model believes that the integrity of each group will serve to enhance self esteem and provide a positive laboratory for learning and generalizing appropriate and successful social skills. These behaviors will move forward with the child as an important component for personal people success. The achievement of these goals requires that the activities presented be in harmony with the capabilities of the child, so that success is attainable. We structure our program so that the campers and travelers receive regular instruction in the widest possible variety of recreational skills and are able to judge and appreciate their own progress. At the same time, our program is flexible and challenging so that each child pursues areas of individual interest.

SpringBrook Autism Behavioral Health

Our Mission

The mission of SpringBrook Autism Behavioral Health is to provide the highest quality care and exceptional services in the eyes of our patients, customers and employees. To achieve this, the Springbrook Autism Program provides structured, effective support for children with autism and their families.

Our Goal for the Autism Behavioral Health Program

Our staff strives to create a solid foundation for long-term wellbeing and success outside of the program. We emphasize evidence-based treatments and therapies, such as Occupational Therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis, that have far-reaching benefits beyond the classroom. All of our services are tailored to meet the needs of individual students and their families, and are provided with our client's dignity, respect, and confidentiality in mind.

Our History

The Springbrook Autism Program grew out of three decades of experience in behavioral and mental health care. We founded the program after recognizing a need in our region for greater support and professional treatments and therapies for families struggling with the behaviors associated with autism. Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health is a specialized, short term residential treatment program for children and adolescents ages 5-21 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We use advanced, evidence-based therapy programs that address the needs of the whole child rather than just the diagnosis. Everything we do is geared toward improving the lives of children with autism and their families; specifically addressing the treatment of severe behaviors and psychiatric related issues to the autism spectrum. The springbrook staff doesn’t merely attempt to control children with autism, we attempt to reach them by every available means.

Florida Autism Center

Our Mission: Florida Autism Center builds a culture of clinical excellence that allows children, their families and our team members to reach their personal potential.
Florida Autism Center (FAC) was founded in 2005 by Chryssy Moor, and serves the autism community with center-based ABA therapy throughout the state of Florida. The organization employs a diverse and talented team of behavior analysts at each of its locations. FAC is a practicum and supervision site for Nova Southeastern University and Florida Institute of Technology. We are proud to have several Ph.D. level employees and consultants on staff in addition to 67 BCBA’s and 15 BCaBA’s. All of our behavior therapists receive complimentary RBT training to advance their careers and maintain FAC’s reputation of ensuring the highest level of clinical quality across our organization. The University of Florida Behavior Analysis Research Clinic (BARC) with Timothy Vollmer, Ph.D BCBA-D, BARC Clinical & Research Director, Kerri Peters, Ph.D., BCBA-D, Intensive Feeding specialist Vivian Ibanez, Ph.D., BCBA-D and FAC have established a collaboration that allows UF to provide clinical and research expertise as well as professional training and high-quality peer review for FAC staff to ensure on-going best practices happen at all FAC locations. FAC provides treatment based on the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, and has a specific focus on early, intensive behavioral intervention, verbal behavior, and social skills. ABA therapy at FAC is completely individualized. There are no cookie cutter, one size fits all, plans because each program is written to meet the individual needs of each child. A BCBA will design and oversee the program that involves the child’s skills, needs, deficits, interests, as well as family preferences. These are all used to determine treatment goals for the individual in different skill areas – everything from daily living skills to communication and language. Goals are adjusted as the child progresses and the BCBA will meet regularly with the family to help apply what is being done successfully in the center to the home environment. We are all on this journey with your child together and we recognize the importance of working together to support one another along the way. FAC operates on the understanding that involvement and support of the special needs community is an integral part of our organization. We participate in local community events surrounding each of our centers and provide resource lists of other organizations in the area that support a variety of needs integral to a child’s development. FAC offers our caregivers continued training opportunities to advance their understanding of the principles of behavior analysis so they may support their child as he/she progresses. We have continued to expand our footprint across the state of Florida and our mission is to continue bringing services to children with autism in their own communities. Our unwavering commitment to our clients has earned us the reputation of the leading provider of center-based ABA therapy services in the state of Florida. We are passionate about the work we do and truly value that families are entrusting us with their child and counting on us to meet their needs for growth and progression. FAC is truly dedicated to making sure that each child, employee, and family member reaches their maximum potential.

Autism Home Support Services

At Autism Home Support Services, we utilize the evidence-based practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, a treatment scientifically proven to have the most effective results for helping children with Autism achieve success. From intake to kickoff of ABA behavior therapy, our technology-supported approach is an integrative one that hinges upon ongoing collaborative communication among our team and your family. One of our uniquely Intake Coordinators will be there to answer any questions you have throughout the entire process, which includes:

Insurance Coverage Verification

Our in-house insurance team works with your insurance company to verify that you have coverage for ABA behavior therapy services for your child and submits bills directly to them, eliminating you as the middleman going forward.

Pre-Care Assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) meets with you and your child to conduct an in-depth interview screening to gather more information and observe your child in the home setting.

Care Plan

The BCBA will use the information gathered during the pre-care assessment, along with direct observation of the child, to create the initial Care Plan. This is a clinical document that details programs used to assist your child in meeting their goals (e.g., communication skills, academic skills, social skills, potty training). The Care Plan will be actively managed by your BCBA in collaboration with you as your child masters goals and acquires new skills.

Care and Support

A team of skilled Care Team Members (CTMs) will be assigned based on your child’s needs, geographical location and the required qualifications for the level of care provided. Your care team will be responsible for implementing your child’s care plan under the direct supervision of the BCBA.

Online Reporting

Notes and data on your child’s development and programs will be maintained in an online format, available to you via a secure login anytime. With your approval, we add video data to demonstrate progress, communicate via Internet video conference, and can share this information with any other member of your child’s therapeutic team.

Ongoing Training and Supervision

Parent training is integral to your child’s success and our process. Your BCBA will provide routine skills development and behavior support for not just your child’s Care Team but parents as well. A monthly progress review meeting will be held between you and your Care Team to evaluate your child’s overall development within the program and make any necessary changes. Additional BCBA time can be scheduled as needed.
