PTR: A comprehensive FBA/BIP process for school-based teams
Supporting students with autism that may demonstrate challenging behavior in school settings can be difficult. The “Prevent-Teach-Reinforce” (PTR) model is designed to meet the needs of students with serious behavior challenges in a broad range of school settings. PTR is a standardized model for individualizing procedures of behavior support based on extensive research. PTR uses a collaborative approach and includes features designed to enhance fidelity of implementation by school personnel. This presentation provides an overview of the PTR model, as well as three case examples.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify the components of Prevent-Teach-Reinforce Model
- Identify a feasible data collection tool to use with school teams
- Use of collaborative teaming to impact student behavior
