The use of Video Modeling for learners with autism

This presentation will discuss the use of video modeling when dealing with problematic behavior.  It will focus on teaching professionals specific skills to enhance motivation, and generalize training.  A step by step demonstration will be presented using real life examples.   Modifications will be explored that allow this particular program to be effective with students significantly challenged with autism, as well as those students with Aspergers Syndrome.

Due to the nature of this presentation, a question and answer period will be provided.

 

 

Goal:To enhance skill levels and reduce behavior via video modeling with individuals on the autism spectrum.

  1. Identify 3 specific teaching strategies to assist an individual on the autism spectrum.
  2. Implement 3 specific behavioral techniques that will assist an individual on the autism spectrum.
  3. Design an individualized video modeling program that will assist an individual on the autism spectrum.

This program content focuses on behavioral interventions in schools for all professionals, including school psychologists, within the school system to identify and comprehend how functional behavioral assessment can be applied to address problem behaviors and other factors that contribute to learning and behavioral issues through evidence-based positive strategies and how to best use video modeling for reducing behaviors for best outcomes and well being of students
