This presentation will offer a clear introduction to the Science of Reading and structured literacy, including an overview of the Active View of Reading Model. We will address key challenges faced by autistic students, such as executive functioning, motivation, hyperlexia, and comprehension issues. Participants will learn about evidence-based reading instruction strategies designed for individuals with significant reading difficulties, with a focus on creating equitable and supportive learning environments. We will also review essential success factors in literacy interventions to ensure all students receive the effective support they need.
