SP-3: Understanding the Neurologic Basis of ASD

This presentation will review the history of Autism/PDD-NOS to ASD in the DSM-5. The underlying neurologic pattern of ASD and impact of this pattern on understanding behaviors. Recognizing critical level of functional Receptive Language as basis of functioning will be discussed. Red flags, and intervention recommendations will be briefly presented.

  2. Learn the Neurodevelopmental patterns of ASD and impact on presentation
  3. Understand hour disordered functional Receptive Language impacts social interactions
