B5-B Life Care Planning

This workshop will discuss what a Life Care Plan is and the steps recommended to create one for a loved one with special needs. It will address such critical issues as protecting government benefit eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid, creating Special Needs Trusts, the importance of a Will, Guardianship, Financial Strategies including ABLE Accounts and preparing Letters of Intent. You will learn about the comprehensive steps, available resources, and necessary tools to help develop your personal agenda customized path that will keep you on track as you consider what’s right for your situation. Following the planning stages can help insure the type of care and quality of life for your loved one’s well-being today and tomorrow.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Define what a Life Care Plan is as it relates to a dependent who has special needs.

2. Learn about and how to apply the available resources, and necessary tools and steps required to develop an individualized Life Care Plan to help families secure the type of care and quality of life for their loved for your loved ones well-being today and tomorrow.

3. Identify critical legal, social, and financial planning issues as it relates to securing the future of a loved one with special needs.

4. Uncover potential financial pitfalls and Identify financial resources and strategies including ABLE  Accounts
