B3-C: Context is Key: Using the Contextual Variable Analysis Tool to Improve Treatment Outcomes

The world is a messy place, and there are countless events that interact with our behavior on a daily basis. Sometimes, there are so many variables that it becomes quite overwhelming. In this discussion, Jennifer Lenderman and Dr. Shane T. Spiker discuss how to critically evaluate said variables using the Contextual Variable Analysis and Planning Tool (CVAPT). The presenters will review the purpose of this tool and how to use this tool in a treatment context to develop interdisciplinary treatment goals to ultimately improve treatment outcomes.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Participants will be able to identify key variables that influence treatment.

2. Participants will be able to assess variables in a treatment context and prioritize which variables to address first.

3. Participants will be able to create action plans to directly address identified variables.
