Allison Schwartz, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine where she works at the Emory Autism Center as the Director of the Assessment Core. Dr. Schwartz earned her PhD in School Psychology from Georgia State University in 2017. She completed her predoctoral internship at NorthStar Educational and Therapeutic Services/Pickens County School District and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Emory Autism Center at Emory University School of Medicine. She works with the Georgia Department of Public Health to help increase the capacity for early autism diagnosis in the state through community psychologists in the Georgia Autism Assessment Collaborative (GAAC) and the five GAAC Specialty Clinics as well as in The Emory Clinic doing community autism evaluations. Recent research included a study looking at remote autism assessment tool, NODA (Naturalistic Observational Diagnostic Assessment). Dr. Schwartz’s research and clinical interests include working with individuals and families impacted by neurodevelopmental disorders, including diagnostic assessment, parent coaching, capacity building in the community, and supervision and training.
