Christine Durst

Christine Durst earned a Master of Arts in Special Education from New Jersey City University, graduating top of class. While working toward an Educational Specialist Degree, she earned more than 30 hours of graduate work through the University of Nebraska, Lincoln in Special Education Leadership, Behavior Analysis, and Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. Her Florida certifications and endorsements include, Exceptional Student Education, Educational Leadership, Severe/Profound Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

She began her instructional career as a Teacher of Students with Autism and continued her focus on supporting students with disabilities as a Transition Specialist, a school-based Leader, and now as the ESE Program Specialist in Martin County for Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Her PEPSA project is designed to refresh and renew the Autism Program in Martin County, leading a team of professional, in crafting the Martin County School District Autism Classroom Toolkit (ACT) which will include the Autism Classroom Guidebook and a clearinghouse of resources, supports, and professional learning activities designed specifically for staff who support students with Autism.
