Melissa K. Burkhardt

Melissa K. Burkhardt, M.S. Ed, BCBA, is dedicated to providing trauma-informed, compassionate, applied behavior analysis therapy (ABA). She is the founder of Early Start Autism, a private ABA practice. She has over 28 years of experience working hands-on with young children with autism, behavioral challenges, and their families. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), a certified Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapist, ESDM Parent Coach and a certified Exceptional Student Education teacher.

Melissa was selected 2019 Service Provider of the Year, Community Inclusion Awards for Palm Beach County. She is the national award-winning author of Autism Society’s “2015 Dr. Temple Grandin Outstanding Literary Work of the Year,” entitled Exceptionally Good Friends: Building Relationships with Autism. Melissa partners with a non-profit to offer a parent coaching scholarship for lower income families. She is passionate about addressing the developmental needs of the whole child and equipping stakeholders with the skills to do so.
