Silvia Gil has over 15 years of experience working with individuals with Autism. She has a Master’s degree in Special Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Special Education from Florida International University. Silvia has worked as an inclusion and special education teacher for students with Autism Spectrum disorder and Emotional Behavioral disorders. She specializes in individualized instruction as well as incorporating inclusive models for general education from preschool to high school settings. Silvia currently works as the Manager for The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Transition and Adult Programs at UM-NSU CARD. As a manager, she assists families in accessing services and supports community partners and businesses to create inclusive environments for individuals with Autism. In addition, she provides consultations and trainings to teachers, professionals, and parents of children and adults on the spectrum. Silvia also manages the Autism Friendly Initiative which works with businesses to adjust their business model and train their staff to accommodate and employ individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities.
