FB2-C: Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT): A comparison of implementation in public school and center based

Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT) is a comprehensive approach that can be used to address challenging behavior. PFA and SBT can be implemented in a variety of settings. While PFA and SBT can be implemented successfully to address varying behaviors, there are certain factors and considerations that must be planned for across settings. This session will provide a brief overview of PFA and SBT, and will discuss the considerations related to implementing the process in a center based setting versus a public school setting. Participants will gain insight into best practices when planning and implementing across a variety of settings.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will understand the PFA/SBT process.
  2. Participants will consider the similarities and differences of implementing PFA/SBT in a clinical setting as compared to a public school setting.
  3. Participants will develop tools to assist in successful implementation of PFA/SBT across a variety of settings.”
