Jacquelyn Dillersberger

Jacequelyn “Jackie” Dillersberger started at Pleasant Grove Elementary School in 1998 as a general education elementary school teacher. A few years into her teaching career she had an involved, non-verbal student with autism placed in her 2nd grade classroom. This was Jackie’s first experience with students with autism and she flourished in the opportunity. She created materials on his level to be able to participate in activities with the class. Fast forward a few years and many students later, Jackie felt the call to become an ESE teacher after serving for many years as the general education teacher in a co-teaching situation. Jackie served as the ESE teacher in a co-teaching partnership that was truly a partnership of teaching. She then transitioned into a self-contained classroom with students with autism of varying abilities for a school year and then back to her calling of serving as an ESE co-teacher in the general education setting. Jackie then earned her Master’s Degree in Exceptional Student Education and became an ESE Specialist at Rock Crusher Elementary. After five years of working at Rock Crusher, Jackie moved to the Citrus County District ESE Department where she now works as a District level ESE Specialist overseeing the 504’s and Gifted Education along with serving as a state contact for Autism Spectrum Disorder for Citrus County.
