Annielle Ramirez Maldonado

Annielle  is a senior undergraduate student at the University of South Florida, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology and a concentration on Lifespan Behavioral Healthcare. With four years of experience in the autism community, Annielle  has served in various roles, including a student office intern for the USF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities(USF CARD), a student research assistant for the USF Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism(USF PEPSA) , a behavioral technician, and a private caretaker for individuals across lifespan with autism and co-occurring mental health conditions.

As the founder and president of the USF Special Olympics College student organization and sports club, Annielle leads a unified team of local Special Olympics athletes and USF students in year-round community-based competitions. Currently pursuing certification as a Registered Behavioral Technician, Annielle is preparing for graduate studies with aspirations of becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in individuals and families impacted by autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Motivated by their experiences as a sibling and designated guardian to their younger brother Benjamin, who has ASD, Annielle  is passionate about creating lasting impact through research and the development of transitional support programs. Their goal is to assist adults on the spectrum in achieving success in the workforce or higher education, while advancing the field of clinical psychology to better serve the autistic community.
