Howard Kaplan

Howard Kaplan, Ph.D. is the Director of the Advanced Visualization Center (AVC), which is part of the University of South Florida Information Technology department. The AVC offers development for research grants, and courses. AVC facilities include: two 3D printing labs, an ultra-high-resolution visualization auditorium, and an advanced technology lab with immersive XR and AI technologies. Based on Dr. Kaplan’s experience with a vast array of technologies he has managed the development and implementation of many academic and research projects for USF and partners such as Veterans Affairs, and DOD, ranging from devices design and prosthetics to interactive XR learning experiences and AI applications. He holds multiple patents for various technologies.
