Statewide Meeting for Autism Spectrum Disorder District Contacts: January 16, 2025.The Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS), will be hosting a statewide meeting for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) district contacts in conjunction with 2024 31st Annual Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) Conference http://cardconference.info/. The conference has been scheduled for January 18-19, 2025, at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando, Florida.
Travel funding for the designated district ASD contact (one per district) will be available from BEESS through The Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism (PEPSA) http://doepartnership.org by reimbursement. Reimbursement, registration and accommodation information will be provided to you by PEPSA. Please note that reimbursement will be paid directly to the participant and not to the district.
The statewide ASD district contact meeting will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (ET). If you choose to attend the PEPSA-Educator Day on Friday, January 17th and/or the CARD Conference Saturday and Sunday, January 18th and 19th, it is mandatory for you to attend the statewide meeting for reimbursement.
If you are unable to attend, we encourage your district to send another representative, possibly a school administrator that has students with ASD on their campus. Please have them email Bryonka Clark so that they can request travel reimbursement.
*Please note, only one person from each district is eligible for reimbursement.
