Cheryl Checkers

Cheryl Checkers, M.S., LMHC-QS, NCC, is a Licensed and National Board-Certified Mental Health Counselor in private practice specializing in the treatment of adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. In addition, Cheryl is a Qualified State Supervisor for mental health interns. Cheryl received her Master of Science Degree in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She holds advanced certifications in autism, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD.   Cheryl serves on the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council (FDDC) and National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD) Dual Diagnosis Training Advisory Committees and is a frequent conference presenter on dual diagnosis of autism and mental health. Cheryl received the 2022 National Alliance on Mental Illness of Florida Clinician Champion award in part for her advocacy on behalf of individuals with autism and co-occurring mental health conditions. She serves as President of the Board of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Palm Beach County.
