Jose Velasco

Jose H. Velasco is the Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) at the Autism Society, the nation’s largest grassroots autism organization, serving more than 500,000 individuals and families annually. He leads One Constellation, the organization’s digital transformation strategy designed to create a connected ecosystem that brings together trusted information, personalized support, community, and services, helping ensure that no one navigates the autism journey alone.

Before joining the Autism Society, Jose spent 35 years in executive leadership roles spanning strategy, product management, consulting, software development, go-to-market, and social impact. During his 26-year career at SAP, he served as Vice President of Strategic Programs in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, where he founded and led the globally recognized SAP Autism at Work program, creating more than 600 employment opportunities for autistic professionals across 16 countries.

Jose has been a panelist for the United Nations World Autism Awareness Day, testified before the U.S. Congress on the Global Challenge of Autism, and contributed to discussions at the World Economic Forum. His work has been featured in more than 1,700 media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, CBS Sunday Morning, NBC, Fox, Inc. Magazine, and Forbes.

In 2016, Jose founded the Autism at Work Summit, a global conference dedicated to advancing employment opportunities for autistic individuals through collaboration among business, government, academia, nonprofits, and the autism community. He previously served on the Board of Directors of The Arc of the United States and the Advisory Board of Vanderbilt University’s Frist Center for Autism and Innovation.
