Kim Watterson-Rivieccio

Kim Watterson-Rivieccio, Ed.D is a licensed mental health counselor who provides therapeutic services, consultations, and psychoeducation to people on the autism spectrum and their families. She received her B.S. in Psychology, M.Ed., and Ed.S in School Counseling/Mental Health Counseling at the University of Florida. Kim went on to receive her Ed.D in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist.   Kim has experience working with children, teens, families, and educators to help them develop plans for success in the areas of learning and mental health. Much of her time as a counselor in the school system involved working with Exceptional Student Education and assisting in the development of educational intervention plans. Kim’s professional experience involves serving as a liaison and advocate for children and their families. Additionally, she worked at the University of Florida Counseling Center during her time at the institution.   Kim currently provides individual, family and group counseling to clients at her private practice in Jupiter, Florida. Her treatment plans involve client-centered modalities, cognitive behavioral strategies, and mindfulness to aid in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms. She supports individuals and families looking for understanding, coping strategies, and skill development. Kim serves as an advisor to programs involving sibling of those with special needs, has facilitated and overseen sibling support programs, and has presented on topics involving siblings of those with special needs over the years. Additionally, she has presented to FAU CARD on best practices to utilize when communicating an autism diagnosis with a child, teen or adult.
